I read one time that the sense of smell was one of the first casualties in the AD jungle.
We were driving back from somewhere a few weeks ago and we came across the very itense smell of a skunk who had probably encountered the farmers dog. I commented on it to Miriam.
She said she could smell noting and I let it go.
This last weekend she made a lemon cake. She likes to make cakes, and since they are out of a box they are easy to make.
When we were eating it more than once she commented that it was amazing that this lemon cake had no lemon flavor. It was too bad they got the labels wrong.
Once again a reminder of where we are going.

I remember asking my mom when I was young how come nonna could eat and drink anything no matter if it was bad milk or a rotten banana. She said cant smell or taste much anymore. I thought that was cool because then she could eat califlower and think that its chocolate. Now that I am older I can see it being a bit of a bumer. Anyways I am sorry grandpa face. I love you
the other thing is... some people would think well at least its not you who has to go though loosing all that... but i know better, because well you love her so much its like its all happening to you. i may never have gotten that feeling with nonna. although at times i was pretty sure i was loosing my brains. but thats another story all together. *huggles*
